CC-C

CC-C is the largest of the three 2D components of a GS1 Composite symbol: a PDF417 symbol that begins with codeword 920 after the symbol length descriptor. It encodes up to 2361 digits in 3 to 30 rows of up to 30 columns.

Uses:

  • The 2D component of a GS1-128 Composite symbol, the only linear component that it accompanies, for data that exceeds the capacity of CC-A and CC-B.

Data syntax: GS1 Application Identifiers.

Standards: ISO/IEC 24723, ITS EAN.UCC Composite Symbology, AIM ISS - EAN.UCC Composite Symbology, GS1 General Specifications.

Data and Options

  • The gs1-cc encoder draws the 2D component alone, so that it can be printed separately from its linear component. The GS1 Composite encoders draw it with its linear component.
  • The data field input is provided in GS1 Application Identifier standard format.
  • Note that it is not necessary to specify FNC1 characters since the encoder will insert these automatically where necessary.
  • Deprecated. The dontlint option disables GS1 Application Identifier syntax validation allowing images to be generated for input that does not comply with GS1 standards.
  • For maximum efficiency, if the data for the 2D component contains a number of application identifiers matching any of the specifications below then they should be provided in this given order:
    • (11)...(10)...
    • (17)...(10)...
    • (90){0-3 digits not starting 0}{upper alpha}...
  • The ccversion=c option selects CC-C.
  • The cccolumns option sets the width of the component in columns, up to 30.

Example

Isolated CC-C 2D component:

Data: (02)09521234543213(37)24(10)1234567ABCDEFG
Options: ccversion=c cccolumns=5
Encoder: gs1-cc
