Should we change the Shift sign-up setup?

Looks good to me. Thanks Rita.

Did you have any ideas for an improved shift signup?

@jatonline In Shift sign up page it says:

Open shift blocks are pre-entered in the Ask-JGI Outlook calendar. There are two shift blocks (Shift 1 and Shift 2), with a one week overlap between blocks.

I think we are not doing this now. There is no pre-entered shift calendar events. Usually, at the meeting, Huw and now me ask who wants to be on shift for the next fortnight and create the event. But, I like the idea of having pre-scheduled calendar events for the shifts.
Maybe we can add a sentence saying that usually we just have one shift ( Shift1), but when there are lot of queries we open Shift2 and they overlap.

Yes I think the single shifter for 2 weeks has become the norm now.

What about other non-calendar options. Eg a spreadsheet or even just a list, launched via a tab in teams?

Maybe that is the easiest way. I'll look into that :)

Looked at the Microsoft Lists app and that can be a easy solution for the shifts sign-up (there is also a calendar view). I will create one and add it to the ask-jgi channel SharePoint. Will update the page later.

Hi @jatonline,

On the toc file there is a reference to - file: pages/Ask-JGI_queries/time-allocation. This file does not exist.

The only reference I am seeing to time allocation is on the pages/Ask-JGI_queries/queries.md (not on toc). The queries.md is very similar to the pages/Ask-JGI_queries/arranging-meetings, but with the extra section on time allocation.

Should I create a new page pages/Ask-JGI_queries/time-allocation and add this bit?

Another thing: do we offer 7 or 8 hours of free support? In the roadshow slides appears 8 hours.

Thanks

1 day of free support, so probably 7 hours, using UoB's definition of w working day :)
