chore: compose Marketplace screenshots with mpshots - #74
The Marketplace screenshots still showed the old name, "Advanced Android Project View", and the settings UI from before the match preview. This PR replaces them with captures taken against Android Studio Quail 3, composed into slides with mpshots.
What's here
marketplace/screenshots/: six raw captures from a sandbox IDE running the plugin on nowinandroid, with the build directory shown and Docs and CI file groups configured.
marketplace/shots.yaml: five 2560×1440 slides — dark theme, plugin icon, #71D98C accent — with crops measured against those captures and an accent highlight on the "Display Build Directory" item.
img/: the four README images replaced with crops of the same captures, under their existing file names, so README.md needs no edits.
runIde passes -Ddisable.android.first.run=true, so a fresh sandbox opens straight into the project rather than Android Studio's first-run wizard.
Rebuild the slides with cd marketplace && npx --yes github:jreznot/mpshots#v0.1.0 build. They land in the git-ignored marketplace/out/ and go up to the Marketplace page by hand.
The script that drove the capture session was added in this branch and then removed again: the captures are what matter, and the slides rebuild from screenshots/ and shots.yaml alone. marketplace/README.md covers taking new ones by hand.
Verified on macOS
On an M1, against the sandbox Android Studio Quail 3:
Plugin settings preloaded into the sandbox are read in the format the plugin expects — after sync the Android view showed build/ under the modules and both the Docs and CI groups.
runIde --args=<sample> opened the sample project, no first-run wizard appeared, and the IDE log has 0 ERROR lines.
All six captures taken; mpshots validate --strict reports 0 errors, and build renders five slides.
Known gaps
group-dialog and search-scope are upscaled 1.29× and 1.14×. Those dialogs were captured smaller than the slide area, so no crop of them can be sharp; sharp versions need re-shooting with the dialogs dragged to roughly 800×700 pt and 700×700 pt.
plugin-install.png shows the Plugins Installed tab rather than a Marketplace search, so it does not match the README's install steps.
Five "source is not 2560×1440" warnings: the captures keep the macOS drop shadow, so each is its window plus a 111×75 px margin. Every crop accounts for that offset.
Added configuration for five dark-theme slides for the marketplace listing, including layouts, text, and screenshot crops.
Documentation
Added guidance for capturing, building, previewing, uploading, and validating marketplace screenshots, including system requirements and image constraints.
Improvements
Running the IDE no longer requires completing its Android first-run setup.
Add a mpshots spec for five feature slides, a capture checklist, and the
pinned command to build them. Raw captures go in marketplace/screenshots;
rendered slides land in the git-ignored marketplace/out.

Walkthrough
The pull request adds a configuration for five Marketplace slides and documentation for capturing and validating screenshots. It also updates ignored files and adds a system property to the IDE launch task.
Adds settings for 2560-pixel dark-theme output and defines five slides with text, screenshot sources, and crop regions. The build-directory slide also defines a highlight region.

that pass mpshots' legibility checks for those captures.

Recapture the slides against Android Studio Quail 3 with the nowinandroid
sample, set real crops in shots.yaml, and replace the outdated img/ images
with crops of the same captures, keeping their file names.
Fixes from running the tooling on a Mac for the first time:
- capture.sh located the sandbox with `find ... | head -1`, which returns the
stale Quail 1 sandbox when several exist, so the preloaded plugin settings
never reached the IDE runIde starts. It now asks Gradle, through a new
printSandboxConfigDirectory task that reads runIde's own sandbox path.
- The window resize did nothing on a fullscreen window and said so only by
way of every later capture being wrong. It now checks the geometry it got.
- Shots are taken by hand with Ctrl-Shift-Cmd-4 and read off the clipboard
rather than by screencapture on a fixed rectangle, so menus and dialogs
that reach outside the window come out without the desktop behind them.
group-dialog and search-scope are upscaled 1.29x and 1.14x because those
dialogs were captured smaller than the slide area. Sharp versions need a
re-shoot with the dialogs dragged larger; the slides build without errors.

The captures exist now and the slides rebuild from screenshots/ and
shots.yaml alone, so the script that produced them is no longer worth
carrying.
printSandboxConfigDirectory goes with it. capture.sh was its only caller:
it existed to tell the script which of the side-by-side sandboxes runIde
actually uses. The runIde first-run flag stays, since skipping Android
Studio's wizard helps anyone running the sandbox IDE, screenshots or not.
marketplace/README.md now covers taking the captures by hand.

Two review findings on marketplace/README.md:
- The shortcut still carried Ctrl from when capture.sh read the screenshot
off the clipboard. With the script gone a capture has to land on disk, so
it is Shift-Cmd-4, and the file has to be moved into screenshots/.
- screenshots/ holds six captures for five slides. plugin-install.png is
README-only, which the Ship section said but the Captures section did not.
