[BUG] Research list load button not working #10

Open

Description

@StormFire52

Im not 100% sure if Im just misusing the load button or if it doesnt work, but here it goes

I can save a Research List just fine, but cannot load it at all, Ive tried clicking the load button. I have also tried typing in the research list name and then clicking load but that doesn't work either. Ive asked the UI Overhaul Dynamic mod author that has a link posted to this github page, but he said that he wasnt sure and to look on the github page for more information.

and I can't seem to find any guide or info on this specifically over google either, so this is my last attempt at getting more information or at the very least reporting it as a bug, assuming it is.

    @Novocastrian

    I've also had zero success using the load/save buttons in Firefox (84.0.1 is the lastest as I type this) and Chrome (87.0.4280.141) on Windows 10. As there's no help tooltip on these functions, I assume 'save' saves the current list's checked/unchecked status in the browser's cookies, and 'load' loads them? Pressing either button does nothing, so I can't really tell what's going on there.

    Edit: these load for me using the steps below.

    1. Create some data
      a. Load the page, then check some technologies as complete (note which ones you're completing).
      b. Enter the name for the save (in my case, 'test').
      c. Click the save button - you should get a pop-up confirming the action.
      d. Check some more technologies (and note these too).
      e. Enter the name for the save (in my case, 'test 2').
      f. Click the save button - you should get a pop-up confirming the action.
    2. Load the data.
      a. Click the textbox used in steps 1b and 1e and empty it. A drop-down box should appear. You may need to start typing words/characters that are in the name of your saves to see the dropdown.
      b. Click the name of the save file you want to load, then click the Load button. You'll see the checked/unchecked status match those saved in step 1.
