Title
Neurobagel "catalog" mode: Make local dataset(s) openly findable using only data dictionaries
Short description and the goals for the OHBM BrainHack
Do you:
- Have a local neuroimaging dataset you want to make easily findable by other researchers?
- Want to make your dataset characteristics (age, available assessments, etc.) queryable in the web?
- Want to deploy a Neurobagel node for but cannot easily run our harmonization tools on your tabular data (e.g., due to data access restrictions?)
- Just want to learn about our project and provide feedback as a data user?
If so, join our Brainhack project for Neurobagel catalog mode!
What is Neurobagel?
Neurobagel is an ecosystem that lets you harmonize local datasets (tabular + imaging data) using standardized vocabularies in a local “node,” which can be discovered by other researchers in a public query interface. Using our annotation tool, you can create a standardized data dictionary for your dataset fully in the browser, while all data remains local on your machine.
By harmonizing your data using Neurobagel, you make it possible to answer queries about your data at the subject-level (e.g., "How many subjects have Parkinson's disease, are 65+ years old, and have UPDRS scores?") without uploading, sharing, or exposing any of your raw data.
Introducing catalog mode
The new Neurobagel catalog mode makes it possible for you to answer these queries at the dataset-level for more restricted data, using only Neurobagel data dictionaries.
How you can contribute
- Come try out our new queries for catalog datasets and provide your feedback on the results!
- Try creating a data dictionary for your dataset, and share just the dictionary with us to upload to a dedicated Brainhack Neurobagel node of catalog datasets. This will make your dataset discoverable to all Brainhackers!
- Brainstorm other dataset-level characteristics to add to our catalog mode
- More interested in code? Help us add catalog mode configurability to the Neurobagel configuration wizard
