d11f, built on Directus 11.17.4 (BSL-licensed), with original features and independent fixes for known upstream issues.
d11f is an independent, self-hosted fork maintained for our own internal use. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to Directus / Monospace, Inc. in any way.
- Base: Directus v11.17.4 (unmodified upstream), licensed under the Business Source License (BSL) 1.1.
- Our changes: A small set of original features plus custom bug fixes developed independently to address issues documented in later upstream releases. We aim to document all unique modifications, original features, and independent fixes within CHANGELOG.md to maintain transparency regarding how this fork differs from stock Directus v11.17.4.
- What we deliberately did not include: Any license-key-gated functionality from newer Directus releases (SSO, custom LLM integration, custom permission rules, AI translations, etc.). d11f only ever incorporates functionality that was freely available in the base version, or fixes we developed independently.
See CHANGELOG.md for the itemized, commit-referenced list of everything that differs from stock Directus 11.17.4.
d11f is derived from Directus, which is licensed under the Business Source License (BSL) 1.1 with an
additional use grant from Monospace, Inc. The original license terms are preserved unmodified in license
and apply to this fork in full.
We are not a party to that license or any associated use grants on your behalf. If you use d11f, you are solely responsible for reviewing, understanding, and maintaining your own compliance with the upstream license terms directly with the copyright holder.

To the extent permitted by law, our independent modifications (the parts listed in CHANGELOG.md) are additionally made available under the terms of the MIT License. This applies solely to our unique modifications; the underlying Directus core remains strictly bound by the upstream BSL 1.1 terms described above.
All custom additions and bug fixes in this repository are developed strictly through clean-room engineering based solely on external observations, error logs, and public system behavior descriptions. Because software bugs often have a limited number of logical algorithmic solutions, any structural or textual similarity between code in this repository and code found in newer upstream versions of Directus is purely coincidental, unintended, and a result of independent logical convergence, not direct derivation or copying.
This repository is provided strictly as a passive source-code asset. We do not package, market, sell, or maintain this software as a commercial product or service.
If any developer, entity, or third party utilizes this code to deploy infrastructure, and if any end-user or business operator utilizes such deployments to run commercial operations, generate revenue, or provide client services (whether for direct financial gain or as unpaid assistance):
- They do so entirely at their own risk and under their own independent legal responsibility.
- The ultimate business operators and deployment owners assume all operational, financial, and legal liabilities arising from the execution of this software.
- Such operations are neither authorized, managed, nor co-signed by the creators of this repository, and all liability for upstream licensing compliance remains strictly with the party running the production instance.
Anyone utilizing code from this repository is explicitly reminded that this software is heavily bound by third-party BSL 1.1 license restrictions belonging to Monospace, Inc. It is the absolute responsibility of the downstream user to monitor their own organizational financial metrics, revenue limits, and use-case limits to ensure they do not breach the upstream licensor's terms. The maintainers of this repository assume zero monitoring duties and hold zero liability if a downstream deployment eventually triggers a compliance audit or legal dispute with the primary copyright holder.
