Whilst VACA is primarily designed to work with View Assist, we recognise that some people like to roll their own things. As such, we have created a new action feature that allows you to:
- Navigate the webview
- Control the alarm
- Display toast messages
- Refresh the webview
- Issue a wake word detection
- Interrupt responses
- Get logcat logs
These features are designed for advanced users and may not be simple to understand. However, feel free to reach out for help on our discord.
You can issue a full url or just a path. If jus a path, it will navigate within the HA server.
action: vaca.send_event
target:
device_id: [YOUR DEVICE]
data:
event_name: navigate
event_value:
url: /lovelace/0
Turns the alarm sounder on or off.
action: vaca.send_event
target:
device_id: [YOUR DEVICE]
data:
event_name: alarm
event_value:
activate: true
These messages will apear on a toast popup on the screen for a short time.

event_value:

action: vaca.send_event

Will retrieve the current logcat logs for this app and save to a file in the config/vaca folder of your HA server. This is to allow easy sending of logs when raising an issue.
