the retry policy changed with v8.1.1 of this plugin, which shipped in late 2017 and was first included with Logstash 6.0. Calling it out here adds confusion, especially because Logstash 9.x is current and people assume that the version refers to Logstash.

could we also clean up this:
If you are using an earlier version of Logstash and wish to connect to
Elasticsearch 7.x, first upgrade Logstash to version 6.8 to ensure it
picks up changes to the Elasticsearch index template.

Removes a note about the retry policy changing, since that change occurred in 2017 and was first included with Logstash 6.0 (also in 2017). The info is no longer relevant, and can be confusing.
