Preferences: Confirm Dialogs still contains a dead choice for "anonymous statistics" opt-out #20
As you can see from the screenshot below, current builds still include a long-defunct Preference for opting out of the anonymous in-game statistics that got removed several years ago.
Steps To Reproduce
Start GM and reach the Start Page normally
Open Preferences > Confirm Dialogs
Observe this value in the main panel
Which version of GameMaker are you reporting this issue for?
IDE v2024.1400.0.885 Runtime v2024.1400.0.875
Which operating system(s) are you seeing the problem on?
Justification: While the description states that a long-defunct preference is still present, it lacks clarity regarding the impact of this issue. Additionally, it does not specify if this is purely a visual bug or if it affects functionality in some way.
Steps to Reproduce: Complete
Justification: The steps are clear, numbered, and provide the necessary actions to reproduce the issue.
Expected vs Actual Behavior: Incomplete
Justification: The report does not detail what the expected behavior should be after the preference is removed and what the actual behavior is regarding the presence of the old option. This comparison is crucial for understanding the severity and implications of the bug.
Relevant Visual Proof: Unable to determine
Justification: A screenshot is included, but it is presented as a placeholder in the text without a clear visual confirmation of what it showcases—this can mean we lack context about the relevance or clarity of the visual proof.
Overall, the report needs improvements in the problem description and in outlining the expected versus actual behavior to be considered complete for work to commence.
