**Bug Report: GSA stable image (2026-02-23) causes connection reset on all HTTP requests**

Environment

• Deployment: Greenbone Community Edition via Docker Compose
• GSA image: registry.community.greenbone.net/community/gsa:stable
• Broken image ID: 330583e341f2 (created 2026-02-23T08:40:05Z)
• Working image ID: 767347da151b (created 2026-02-18)
• GSAD version: 24.15.1
• Host OS: Ubuntu (Docker)

Description

After pulling the latest stable image on 2026-02-23, the GSA web interface became completely unreachable. All HTTP connections are immediately reset by the server.

GSAD starts successfully and binds to the correct port, but every incoming HTTP request results in connection reset by peer with no error logged.

Steps to reproduce

1. Pull the gsa:stable image updated on 2026-02-23
2. Start the container with docker compose up -d
3. Attempt to access the web UI or run curl -v http://<host>:9392

Expected behavior
GSA serves the web interface normally.

Actual behavior

curl: (56) Recv failure: Connection reset by peer

GSAD logs show only the startup messages — no requests are logged at all, not even the ones that are being reset:

starting gsad with args -f --http-only
gsad main: INFO: Starting GSAD version 24.15.1
gsad main: INFO: Starting HTTP server on :: and port 9392
gsad main: INFO: gsad started successfully

Workaround

Rolling back to the previous image (767347da151b, created 2026-02-18) restores full functionality immediately:

docker compose stop gsa
docker tag 767347da151b registry.community.greenbone.net/community/gsa:stable
docker compose up -d gsa

Additional notes

• The gvmd socket (gvmd.sock) is correctly shared via Docker volume and accessible
• No errors or warnings in any container logs
• The issue is isolated to the GSA container — all other services (gvmd, openvasd, ospd-openvas) are running normally

Hi, is this still an issue?

Btw, gsad (the web server) and gsa (the web application) got split into two container images with the latest compose file. In near future the current gsa container image including the gsad web server will be removed. Therefore you should follow these changes.
