PR for Jingyi Wu's "Better Than Best" paper, published in Philosophy of Science (2023)
NK Landscape model studying agent adoption of "better" vs. "best" agent strategies in the community. Adopting a "better" solution is shown to retain transient diversity in the community. A "mixed" community where some agents adopt "better" strategies and others adopt the "best strategy" is shown to both facilitate transient diversity and maximize community fitness.
