<p>Documents of the court leets held by the steward of the honour of Ewelme from 1712 to 1720, relating to Ardington, Hinton and Purley or Tidmarsh
in Berkshire; High Wycombe, Quainton, Shabbington and Wingrave in Buckinghamshire; Cherrington and Little Rissington in Gloucestershire; Allington and Sutton Scotney in
Hampshire; Uxbridge in Middlesex; Aston Rowant, Bicester, Binfield, Chalgrove,
Checkendon, Chinnor, Clanfield, Ewelme, Great Haseley, Horspath, Lewknor and Thrupp in Oxfordshire.</p>
<p>The collection belonged to Richard Carter of Chilton, steward of the honour 1712-20, and descended by marriage to Sir John Aubrey of Boarstall and Dorton; transferred to the Bodleian from the Aubrey Fletcher estate papers, Buckinghamshire Archaeological Society. </p>
<p> "The papers are now arranged in three boxes referenced MSS. dd. Ewelme honour
d. 1-3 and comprise thirteen bundles. Each bundle contains a series of packets made
