Split Workspaces: Choosing "Split Workspace" on a different tab than the current should split the clicked workspace, not the current #16161

What is the problem this request aims to solve?

In the Beta, a workspace split can be created in the tab right-click menu. When testing, I often found myself right-clicking a tab I wanted to split with the current one, choosing "Split Workspace", and expecting the tab I right-clicked to be opened in the new split.

However, this does not happen. A blank workspace is created regardless of which tab you select "Split Workspace" on.

How do you suggest we solve this problem?

When one of the Split Workspace options is selected on a tab other than the current one, that tab should be moved into the newly split workspace. This would allow a more streamlined workflow, letting you go straight to the desired view, instead of having to drag something into the newly split workspace.

Are there any alternative ways to solve this problem you want to suggest?

The right-click options could also be renamed to something like "Split workspace with current tab" on tabs other than the selected one to make this clearer.
