[Feature] Support migrating Lucidchart macros #107
If this macro has a preview image like Gliffy and Draw.io it might be possible to use the same transformation approach, which is showing the preview image in SharePoint, instead of the text placeholder.
@bhouleinf Back then I looked into the options to migrate Lucidcharts so that you can continue using them in SharePoint Online. I remember finding out about the cloud-based nature of the Lucidcharts offering and that the migration would probably have to be done to the Lucidchart cloud (somehow). That's where it ended, as Lucidcharts hasn't been a topic since then.
You are suggesting a different approach, which I also like, which is switching to something else - like an image or Visio. That's comparable to draw.io and Gliffy which WikiTraccs migrateds to static preview images (no Visio available there).
I'm only a little bit wary about the Visio 2010 version there - that's like 15 years old. But that's another topic.
As for your question: I did not have any concrete plans to work on the Lucidcharts macro transformation so far and would have to look at that. The effort to build that depends a bit on how convenient the Lucidcharts plugin makes automating the export - does it have an API to do that? This would be easy to integrate. Does it only have the UI-based export? Then we'd need some kind of remote-controlled browser action like I did to migrate Confluence Cloud whiteboards.
To have proper context, could you please tell me your Confluence version and the version of the Lucidcharts plugin you are using?
We are using Confluence 6.5.0 and Lucidchart onPrem plugin 1.19.3 :(
This plugin did not use the cloud version of Lucidchart. We never did the migration.
It only has a UI-based export. Honestly, just having a screenshot like the whiteboard would be enough. We would export and migrate (convert the vdx to vsdx with the desktop app) by hand a limited number of diagrams that we know we need to maintain.

Is this something that you still plan to do? We have a thousand diagrams to migrate and would really appreciate a preview image and Visio export :)
Can I help you in any way? Here what it looks like:
This is the preview on the page

If you click on the pencil, it opens the editor and you can export to Visio.

The diagram is saved as a json on the page but I don't think it's useful.
