• Untested image processing: on the upgraded running homeserver, upload fresh JPEG, PNG, and animated GIF files through a Matrix client and confirm media and thumbnails display correctly.

Merge with a merge commit — do not squash. next is long-lived: a merge commit leaves it a true ancestor of master, so it fast-forwards cleanly afterwards. A squash re-lands the same content under a new commit, so the branch is left carrying history master will never contain.

• ghcr.io/element-hq/synapse:v1.163.2 exists, with linux/amd64 and linux/arm64 manifests. That covers the manifest's x86_64/aarch64.
• The release notes match upstream CHANGES.md for 1.163.2, which is only the Pillow 13.0.0 security bump. All five locales are updated and the link points to v1.163.2.
• Editing current.ts in place is correct: its up is empty, so there's no migration to keep. The beta registry serves 1.163.1:0, so it's right that the notes cover only 1.163.1 → 1.163.2.
• The @start9labs/start-sdk pin (3.1.0) matches npm latest.
• No build: only the image tag, version and notes changed, and CI builds the PR.
