Create soil heat example based on analytical test case #91

Closed

Description

@bgroenks96

Add soil heat example as proposed in #88

Checklist:

  • Add example notebook or script demonstrating how to set up a SoilModel to simulate heat conduction for a single column with periodic forcing (see existing unit test)
  • Show that output matches expected value within some expected tolerance
  • Add documentation page for the example
  • Bonus: Consider also adding a test for the two-phase Stefan problem based on the implementation in CryoGrid.jl

    Hello @bgroenks96 ! Thank you for the credits. I actually wanted to volunteer to add that example myself, do you think you could assign it to me?

    Hi @elenamiralles, yes that was the intention. Your name didn't show up before for some reason. Done now.

    Just fyi @elenamiralles, as of #92 we have changed to using Literate.jl instead of Pluto notebooks, so you should just prepare the example as a script, not a notebook.

    Hi @elenamiralles, just another heads up, #84 added a simple linear heat conduction sample in the section on "extending" Terrarium; i.e. linear heat conduction is implemented as a new process rather than using existing ones. I am not sure how much this overlaps with your efforts, but the added example does not include much in the way of validation or analysis, so feel free to merge your work with it in whatever way you see fit.

    Hi @bgroenks96, thanks for the heads up! I took a look at #84 and it is indeed complementary to the example I'm working on. I'm thinking they can coexist without redundancy. Once I am done drafting it I'd love your thoughts. Planning on getting a PR up soon.
