Study-Quest is a gamified productivity application designed to help students overcome procrastination by turning academic tasks into an engaging "quest" experience. Built for students, by students.
Traditional study methods often feel tedious, leading to a lack of motivation. Students frequently struggle with time management and maintaining focus during long study sessions.
Study-Quest transforms the learning process into a game. By completing tasks, students earn rewards and level up, making the "grind" of studying feel like an achievement.
- Gamified Task Management: Create study tasks and earn "Experience Points" (XP) upon completion.
- Interactive Timer: Built-in focus sessions (Pomodoro-style) to ensure deep work.
- Reward System: Unlock achievements and track progress through a visual leveling system.
- User-Friendly Interface: A clean, intuitive UI designed to minimize distractions.
- Language: Dart
- Framework: Flutter (Cross-platform)
- Design Tools: Figma / Adobe XD
- Development Environment: VS Code / Android Studio
This project’s privacy framework was refined through the lens of the "Amnesty International Digital Security & Human Rights" framework, ensuring that user data protection aligns with global humanitarian standards. As a Cybersecurity-focused developer, I implemented a "Security-by-Design" approach for Study Quest:
- Data Integrity: Implemented robust input validation for all user entry points to prevent common injection vulnerabilities.
- Secure State Management: Leveraged secure local state patterns to ensure user session data remains isolated and protected.
- Privacy-Centric Architecture: Designed with a "Zero-Tracking" policy. The application requires no unnecessary permissions, ensuring maximum user privacy and data sovereignty.
- Compliance Ready: Built following best practices that align with GDPR principles for data minimization.
The app is built following a structured Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC):
- Functional Requirements: User registration, task creation, quest tracking, and notification alerts.
- Non-Functional Requirements: High availability, data security, and responsive UI performance.
- Target Audience: Specifically optimized for University students and self-learners.
