Summary

  • Lock down the maxSubagentDepth: 1 boundary when a parent dispatches two subagents in the same tool batch. Both children finish, retain their configured nested descriptors, and receive no SDK-managed subagent tool even when their own inputs ask for a higher limit.
  • Exercise a parallel graph subagent at depth one with every member configured to request a grandchild; assert no member can spawn one.
  • Verify the 1 -> 0 input override, detached child-thread continuation, and the exhausted-budget rejection on the background path.

Verification

  • ./node_modules/.bin/jest --runInBand --coverage=false src/specs/subagent.test.ts src/tools/__tests__/SubagentExecutor.test.ts (143 passed)
  • ./node_modules/.bin/jest --runInBand --coverage=false src/specs/graph-subagent.test.ts (6 passed)
  • ./node_modules/.bin/tsc --noEmit
  • ./node_modules/.bin/eslint src/tools/__tests__/SubagentExecutor.test.ts src/specs/subagent.test.ts src/specs/graph-subagent.test.ts
  • npm run sort-imports:check -- src/tools/__tests__/SubagentExecutor.test.ts src/specs/subagent.test.ts src/specs/graph-subagent.test.ts

Tests only. No SDK behavior changed.
