I'm probably just not going about this correctly, but what's the process like for getting App Intents, specifically shortcut actions to work? I can't seem to properly register it
Correct, App Intents leverage the proprietary appintentsmetadataprocessor tool. In essence it just takes in the app's Swift interface and produces a JSON file with information about the intents, so it should be possible for someone to re-implement this, but it would probably be an arduous task. Also notable that App Intents are a moving target because Apple adds new functionality every year.
Going to leave this open as a feature request, I think this would be good to have someday even if it isn't easy to do.
