Failed to apply FFU exit code 255

I am trying to image a new Lenovo 13W laptop and I am getting an error when doing so. I have attached both logs from the attempt.

DISM.EXE: FfuManager processed the command line but failed. HRESULT=8007000D

That error is an invalid data error. Could be a bad copy from the host machine to the USB drive, or it could be a corrupt FFU. Any AV/EDR/XDR software that could be scanning the drive and impact the copy (assuming that's the issue)?

Can you also attach your FFUDevelopment.log and C:\windows\logs\dism\dism.log files from the build machine? I'd like to check something there too.

I have no software that cares about USB drives on my machine. I have been having no issues up until yesterday when creating drives. I have attached both logs below.

i'm getting the same issues, tried to rebuild the image still getting the same,
this the second key i made, the first one was with en-us language without driver < this one worked perfectly
And the second was with en-gb with driver < this one is failing
here is the logs of the failing one.

One of our techs had the same (read) error on deploying from USB. Resolved by replacing the USB drive with a different one.

For your failure, is it safe to assume that you've tried multiple times with en-gb?

I'm curious if you compare the hash value of the FFU on the build machine and what's on the USB drive. Does it match? If Remove FFU is selected in Post-Build clean up options, you'll need to unselect it.

Run:

Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 "F:\Win11_25H2_Pro_2026-06-29_1545.ffu"

Change the path to your actual FFU file name.

I took @astavitsky advice and tried a different USB drive and it solved all my problems. I tried 3 different ones, they were all the same brand, but they all had this issue. I guess there must be something funky with this brand called Joiot, they work just fine as normal usb but not for this use case.

i've made a new build but plugged two usb (re used the old one and added the same one, same model same capacity ) to make two key at the same time,

Yes, i don't know why but when using 2-3 usb key at the same time it works
