As was suggested by @trulede , I am opening this discussion thread in the hope that other macOS users might be able to help with issue #2692 which I opened a while ago. Instead of repeating what was written already, I ask you to please refer to the issue itself. Thanks. At this point in time, I don't even know if my troubles with Your help is appreciated. |

Turns out it was neither a macOS problem nor
taskmisbehaving, but a case of PEBKAC. If you are curious about the details, see here. I'm sorry for the noise.
