Summary of important user-visible changes for pkg-octave-doc 0.7.4:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
** Demo figures are saved as PNG again, printed at twice the nominal size so
they stay sharp on a high-density display. SVG, the default since 0.7.3,
routes through gl2ps, whose feedback buffer overflows on figures rich in
filled areas: building the statistics package produced 60 SVG files above
150 KB, the largest 25.3 MB, and one figure consumed 15.5 GB of temporary
space before the build wedged. The same figure is 64 KB as a PNG, and no
asset in a 538-page build exceeds 138 KB.
** SVG remains available, in full, through the new `figformat` Name/Value
pair, accepted by `package_texi2html`, `function_texi2html`,
`classdef_texi2html` and `build_DEMOS`:
package_texi2html ("mypackage", "figformat", "svg");
Note that for a figure of ordinary complexity SVG is the smaller of the
two; PNG is the default because its worst case is bounded.
** Demo figure files separate their number with a "-", as in
`mean-101.png`, since "_" already stands for the file separator of an
old-style "@class/method" name and a function name may contain one.
** Demo figures are named after their owner exactly as its HTML page is, so
the figures of `prob.NormalDistribution.pdf` now sit beside
`prob.NormalDistribution.pdf.html` instead of under a flattened name.
** Pre-existing HTML files are purged from the documentation's root directory
at the start of a package build, so pages of functions that were removed
or renamed no longer linger. Only `.html` files are affected, leaving
`.nojekyll` and anything else in place.
** Source-code links are resolved for package-qualified names such as
`prob.NormalDistribution`. `exist` reports 0 for those, so every class
inside a package directory previously shipped without a source link.
** A classdef page no longer emits an empty source-code link when the URL
cannot be resolved.
