Get up and running with the DevOps DevContainer in 5 minutes!
- Docker Desktop running
- VS Code installed
- Dev Containers extension installed
git clone https://github.com/dbhq-uk/devcontainer-devops.git
cd devcontainer-devopscode .When prompted, click "Reopen in Container"
Or manually:
- Press
F1orCtrl+Shift+P - Type:
Dev Containers: Reopen in Container - Press Enter
The pre-built image is pulled from GHCR, so there is no build to wait for. It is a large image, so the first pull still takes a few minutes.
If you are changing the Dockerfile or an install script, switch
.devcontainer/devcontainer.json to the local build first - see
CONTRIBUTING.md. A full local build takes
considerably longer than a pull.
Once inside the container, run:
validateThis checks all tools are installed correctly.
