apps/penpal/frontend/package.json:41 upgrades @vitejs/plugin-react to v6, but the same importer still pins vite to ^7.0.0 (apps/penpal/frontend/package.json:48), and the regenerated lockfile resolves that pair as plugin-react 6.0.1 with Vite 7.3.1 (pnpm-lock.yaml:141-143). Upstream v6 declares a vite:^8.0.0 peer and its 6.0.0 changelog explicitly drops Vite 7 support, so any fresh install/build of the Penpal frontend now runs on an unsupported dependency combination.
