[PM-40489] Export vault to another app fails immediately after tapping Export items

Steps To Reproduce

1. Open the Bitwarden iOS app.
2. Navigate to Settings → Vault → Export vault.
3. Select Export vault to another app.
4. The export summary screen appears, showing the vault contents grouped by item type (Passwords, Passkeys, Cards, Identities, and Secure notes) along with the item count for each type.
5. Tap Export items.

Expected Result

After tapping Export items, the user should be prompted to choose a destination application to receive the exported vault data (for example, Apple Passwords or another compatible credential manager).

Actual Result

Immediately after tapping Export items, a failure screen is displayed with the message::

"Export failed: There has been an issue exporting items."

The destination application selection interface never appears.

Additional Context

• The export summary screen loads successfully and correctly displays all vault item categories and their respective counts before the failure occurs.
• The failure occurs immediately after tapping Export items.
• The issue has been reproduced consistently.

did you do the "basic troubleshooting"? like restarting your phone and completly uninstall bitwarden?

Thanks for the data point. Yes, I've already tried the basic troubleshooting steps, including restarting the iPhone and completely uninstalling/reinstalling the Bitwarden app. The issue persists and is reproducible every time on my device.

Thanks for the Flight Recorder suggestion. It helped narrow down the issue significantly.

Findings

Using Flight Recorder, I identified two vault item configurations that caused the bulk CXP export to fail in my testing:

• Login items containing a login URI configured with the Regular Expression match detection type.
• A login containing a Bitwarden Steam TOTP secret using the steam:// URI format.

After removing the login URIs with the Regular Expression match detection type and removing the Steam TOTP secret, the bulk export completed successfully.

Additional observations

After getting the export to complete, I noticed what appears to be a separate issue affecting the exported data.

• Not all login items were imported into Apple Passwords.
• Some login items were imported, but their TOTP secrets were missing.
• On the first export, about 20% of those login items were imported without their associated TOTP secret.
• After performing another CXP export, a small percentage of the previously missing TOTP secrets appeared in Apple Passwords without making any changes in Bitwaredn; however, most remained missing.

Suggestions

Regardless of the underlying cause, I think the export experience could be improved by:

• Identifying the specific vault item(s) that caused the export to fail instead of returning only the generic "Export failed" message
• Allowing the export to continue while reporting any skipped or unsupported items, rather than aborting the entire export
• Allowing users to export one or more selected vault items instead of requiring an all-or-nothing bulk export

I have the very same issue. It worked fine about a month ago but now when i try to export on my ipad or iphone i do get the same error message right away. iPhone and ipad are on the newest iOS 26.6 - Bitwarden I updated right after the problem accrued. Still with the newest version, i cannot export my vault. Same setup worked fine last month.
Please help
