# Linking your Warframe account to FrameHub

FrameHub is now capable of staying in sync with your Warframe profile. By linking an account, all progress relevant to your mastery rank level, such as items XP progress, Star Chart/Steel Path nodes mastered, and Intrinsics will be automatically updated when loading the FrameHub page.

In order to link an account, you will need to obtain your Warframe account ID. Follow the steps in the [Obtaining your Warframe Account ID](#obtaining-your-warframe-account-id) section.

## Is this safe?
Yes, this is completely safe!

FrameHub uses a publicly accessible API endpoint to obtain a player's profile data. In fact, this is essentially how viewing other player's profiles works in game. The only difference is that the game does an extra step to figure out the account ID from a username, which we are unfortunately not able to do.

The Account ID we need for this endpoint is how the game tracks a player across the game. Think of it as the behind-the-scenes username for the game, because you can change your actual username!

Sharing your Account ID is completely harmless. In fact, you can actually find the account IDs of players in your squad by searching for `AddSquadMember` in the game's `EE.log` files. And here is [DE]Rebecca's account ID and profile data: https://content.warframe.com/dynamic/getProfileViewingData.php?playerId=505875fb1a4d80894a000000.

## Obtaining your Warframe Account ID

### Method 1 (Recommended) - warframe.com
This method is recommended as it allows players across any platform to easily obtain their account ID from a desktop browser.

1) Open up a browser, such as Google Chrome, on a desktop.
> [!TIP]
> These steps involve using your browser's dev tools. If you are unfamiliar, it will be easiest to follow on Google Chrome, one of its derivatives (e.g. Microsoft Edge), or Firefox.
2) Go to https://www.warframe.com/.
3) Login using the account you would like to link.
4) Open up your browser's dev tools. For most browsers, this can be done by right clicking on the page and clicking `Inspect`.
5) Locate the `gid` cookie from your browser's dev tools.
> [!TIP]
> **Google Chrome/Chromium/derivatives**:
> 1) Select the `Application` tab at the top of the dev tools. If `Application` is not visible, you may have to click the `More Tabs` arrow (») on the right.
> 2) Find `Cookies` under the `Storage` section on the left-hand side of the dev tools
> 3) Double click on `Cookies`.
> 4) Under `Cookies`, click `https://www.warframe.com`. A table of your cookies will become visible on the right-hand side.
> 5) Click on the row with the name `gid`.
> 6) Double click on the `Value` column in the selected row.
> 7) Copy the selected value to your clipboard (Ctrl+C or Cmd+C).
>
> **Firefox**:
> 1) Select the `Storage` tab at the top of the dev tools. If `Storage` is not visible, you may have to click the arrow (») on the right.
> 2) Double click on `Cookies` if it is not already open.
> 3) Under `Cookies`, click `https://www.warframe.com`. A table of your cookies will become visible.
> 4) Click on the row with the name `gid`.
> 5) Double click on the `Value` column in the selected row.
> 6) Copy the selected value to your clipboard (Ctrl+C or Cmd+C).
6) Paste the `gid` cookie value into FrameHub to finish linking your account!

### Method 2 - EE.log file
This method is only available for Warframe players on PC.

1) Locate the `EE.log` file in your game's files
> [!TIP]
> **Windows**: For a typical Warframe install, the file should be located at `C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Warframe\EE.log`. Replace `<USERNAME>` with your Windows username.
>
> If you are unable to find the `AppData` folder, ensure you have `View Hidden Items` enabled on the File Explorer.
>
> **Linux (Steam Flatpak)**: Unless you have changed where your Steam games are installed, the file should be located at `~/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/230410/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Warframe/EE.log`.
2) Open the file in a text editor
3) Search for the text `Logged in <USERNAME>` (Ctrl+F). Replace `<USERNAME>` with your Warframe username.
> [!NOTE]
> If you were unable to find this text in the file, ensure you have previously logged into your Warframe on your device with the account you intend to link.
4) Copy the characters (Ctrl+C) surrounded by parenthesis on the same line of text found.
5) Paste the characters into FrameHub to finish linking your account!
