Need instructions for idiots like me #1

Description

@cytan299

Hi Patrick,
I tried using your script and have failed miserably :(

I had set up Minh's script to do scans earlier, so the slew rate, Sun being in the correct place on screen, capture rate should be correct for doing a capture.

After taking a few images with Minh's script, I wanted to test out SHGScan so I just ran it.

Note: I did not see your button at all in the menubar the first time I ran your script. It turns out that I needed to make SharpCap wider so that the button shows up. Please add this to your instructions. You might also want to show a screen capture of how the button actually looks like. It took me quite a while to discover where this new button was because I didn't know how it looked like. It was not until I clicked on the "down arrow" on the right side of the menubar that I saw your button. It was only later that after I resized the width of SharpCap, that your button showed up on the menubar.

Once I found the button, I clicked on it. The parameter window showed up. I did change some parameters:

NumCycles=15
SunWidth=2300
CycleSleep=0.50
SlewPad=0.50
LimbThreshold=0.10
Bidirectional=False
BumpSwap=False
BumpRate=8
AxisToMove=0

I moved the mount so that the spectrum had "max" width and just clicked "Go". Unfortunately, the scan produced a dumbbell image of the Sun in JSolex :(

Question: Do I need to change the image width in SHGScan? What does the Measure button actually do? In principle, the width of the Sun as measured by the reconstructed image is 2190 pixels for my scope.

If you can post a detailed step by step guide for dummies/idiots like me, it'll help a lot to make your program work.

Thanks!

cytan
