Release notes

Dated release log for Aether Agent. Files are named YYYY-MM-DD.md and record the release, candidate, publication, or documentation events that occurred on that date.

For the live command reference, see COMMANDS.md.

Each release line also carries an operator packet — OPERATOR-PACKET-v<version>.md. Before publication it records candidate qualification and founder-owned publish steps; after publication it is frozen as prerelease evidence while the registry and tag remain authoritative.

  • 2026-10-09 — v4.21.0 source candidate for console discovery, prompt editing, context pinning, and read-only planning. npm publication is pending. Packet: OPERATOR-PACKET-v4.21.0.md.

  • 2026-10-06 — v4.20.0 release record for coding console control, remote viewing status, and managed-agent readiness. The npm CLI is published; the PyPI launcher and GitHub Release remain pending. Packet: OPERATOR-PACKET-v4.20.0.md.

  • 2026-09-30 — v0.4.0 response incident qualification update: Windows CLI trust and installed-command diagnosis, one completed hosted source chat turn, and remaining packaged and release gates. This is candidate evidence, not a publication.

  • 2026-09-27 — v0.4.0 interactive chat qualification update after an installed-package home-directory stall. This is a candidate incident record, not a publication. The operator packet tracks the exact-head and remaining release gates.

  • 2026-09-17 — v0.4.0 source candidate for shared managed agents and ATS setup. No publication or live-service qualification is established by this entry. Packet: OPERATOR-PACKET-v0.4.0.md.

  • 2026-09-03 — released v0.3.2: the v0.3.1 maintenance line merged back into main, restoring the browser-launcher verification and bringing the declared version back in line for publication. Frozen prerelease packet: OPERATOR-PACKET-v0.3.2.md.

  • 2026-08-29 — released v0.3.1: actionable Node.js-version recovery and browser-login fallback. Frozen prerelease packet: OPERATOR-PACKET-v0.3.1.md.

  • 2026-08-28 — v0.3.1 prerelease candidate record retained separately from the August 29 publication evidence.

  • v0.3.0 release body — publish-ready user-facing notes for the GitHub release. It deliberately makes no pre-publication npm claim; the dated publication record is added only after registry verification.

  • 2026-08-22 — historical v0.3.0 candidate record: the aether review → aether ship rail, aether sessions, skills enforced inside real runs, aether skills, aether capabilities, aether support-bundle, a coding run that refuses to become a chat, plus the unpublished 0.2.0 work and twelve fixes. Packet: OPERATOR-PACKET-v0.3.0.md.

  • 2026-08-19 — v0.2.0 (never released; superseded by v0.3.0): portable handoffs, --resume reaches the brain, --local "<task>" works out of the box.

  • 2026-08-14 — Durable media output history, one safe opener, and aether doctor v2 (fast / --live / --fix).

  • 2026-06-09 — Aether Agent rebrand + slash-command console (PRs #4–#16).
